5:00 PM  –  6:00 PM

Join us on Thursday, September 22 at 5 pm for our next virtual Kahaukani Conversation, "Mō‘ili‘ili - The Life of a Community," featuring artist Laura Ruby.

As editor of the book Mō‘ili‘ili -The Life of a Community, Laura Ruby will talk about the vibrant community first named Waikīkī Waena, then Kamoiliili, today is known as Mō‘ili‘ili. Mō‘ili‘ili's story began with the Hawaiian concept of ahupua‘a, which incorporated the notion of balance in the use of land and the ocean.  Through their system of shared water for the community's farming needs, the early Hawaiians initiated the cohesion of individual residents into the wholeness of a community. Over time, the multi-ethnic Mō‘ili‘ili community embraced a unifying vision of common good of its people.

This presentation will take place over Zoom. Please register below and a link will be emailed prior to the presentation.
