Summer Hula camp with Kumu Kilohana Silve

 

Summer Hula Camp is back June 3 - June 12 from 9 am - 12 pm (skipping June 11 for the Kamehameha Day holiday). Building on successful in-person hula camp experiences over the past few summers, with participants ranging in age from 5-92 years young, Kumu Kilohana Silve of Hālau Hula o Mānoa will integrate ma ka hana ka ‘ike hands-on activities in addition to sharing mo‘olelo (stories) and teaching a new hula noho ("Auhea O Ka Lani") to participants. Participants will metaphorically begin at the shore with the surf hula honoring King William Charles Lunalilo, and travel up through the ahupua‘a to a freshwater pond surrounded by ferns to rinse off from the ocean. Join us for a fun week of learning, dancing and chanting!
