What will the workshop involve?
Each class is unique, inspired by what is happening in the garden that day and the participants’ interests and abilities. The workshops begin with an introduction to the three main habits of nature journaling, followed by time spent outdoors with opportunities for guided and independent journaling. Each session concludes with a chance to share and reflect on the experience.
Please note that exploring the gardens of Mānoa Heritage Center requires walking on uneven ground, including stone pathways, stairs, and grassy hillsides. Participants are also welcome to remain on the accessible, covered walkways with access to native plants and beautiful views. Workshops are held rain or shine.
Each participant should bring their own:
-Journal, notebook, or sketchbook
-Pencil or pen
-Colored pencils (optional)
-Mat or towel to sit on (MHC also has campstools participants may use)
-Hat and sunscreen
-Water in a reusable bottle
